Crayfish
Our fisheries investments comprise 50 tonnes of directly owned crayfish quota (Taranaki Aqua Gardens).
For the 2011/12 fishing year PKW is leasing its Annual Catch Entitlement to Port Nicholson Fisheries while also developing new relationships with the Iwi Collective Partnership and Ngati Mutunga ki Wharekauri.
Our principal partners are Wakatu Incorporation and businessman George Stavrinos.
Forestry
PKW is a 50/50 owner in the Mangaoapa Forest Partnership located in north-east Taranaki. The forest comprises approximately 240 hectares of pinus radiata planted in 1993.
The Managoapa Forest Partnership is in the process of registering the forest as a Post-1989 forest with the New Zealand Unit Emissions Register in order to claim the carbon credits generated by the forest.
Commercial Property
PKW’s commercial property interests consist of three Taranaki-based properties located in New Plymouth, Waitara and Stratford. These properties are tenanted by established Taranaki commercial businesses and New Zealand Government agencies.
Venture Capital
PKW has a passive investment in Finistere Partners LLC, a leading life science venture capital firm based in San Diego. Finistere’s investment strategy is focused on Food, Energy and Health related technologies.
The Finistere fund focuses on the development of technologies related to agricultural innovation and medical devices and diagnostics.
